Nvidia calls its chief executive's contact with Alice Huang ordinary business. A new account calls it something else.
The Kobeissi Letter posted the claim on X on Nov. 7, citing the Financial Times. Jensen Huang had a romantic relationship with a Chinese spy, the post said. China's Ministry of State Security recruited her1.
Alice Huang is the spy. She is an executive at Megaspeed, a Singapore firm that buys Nvidia chips for cloud computing across Southeast Asia. Nvidia already answered one question about her. This one stays open.
A Second Account Adds a Relationship and an Agency
The New York Times first reported the surveillance on Oct. 29. It said intelligence officials tracked Alice Huang, who also goes by Huang Le, for about a year4. The October account called the contact a business relationship and skipped the agency's name entirely.
A fuller account followed on Nov. 7. China's Ministry of State Security, the country's main foreign intelligence service, gets named for the first time6. A report cited by The Week says a photo shows Huang Le inviting Jensen Huang to a gathering in Taipei in 20247.

The alleged goal was bigger than information. A memo described to the Financial Times named the goal. Huang Le's handlers wanted looser export controls on advanced AI chips, pursued through Jensen Huang6.
Washington had just loosened one piece of that policy, authorizing new H200 sales to China the same January. The memo reportedly circulated before President Trump's trip to Beijing in May.
Chris McGuire, a fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, posted his own read on X. "The story keeps getting crazier," he wrote. "The US intelligence community discovered that Jensen Huang, the CEO of the largest company in the world, was sleeping with Alice Huang, a Chinese spy and an executive at Megaspeed"3.
The Kobeissi Letter@KobeissiLetterBREAKING: US officials believe Nvidia, $NVDA, CEO Jensen Huang had a "romantic relationship" with a Chinese spy from China’s main intelligence agency, per FT.

Megaspeed's Own Executive Is Missing
Megaspeed spent as much as $2 billion on Nvidia chips, Tom's Hardware reported in April9. Huang Le ran the company. Inspectors found some of them still sealed in shipping crates at a Malaysian site in late 2024. The crate discovery is what opened the file in the first place.
Bain Capital's data center unit dropped Megaspeed as a tenant. A February memo to lenders replaced the firm with Zenlayer at its Malaysian campus10. Megaspeed's name had already become a liability months before Congress wrote its letter.
9 Dated Events Link a 2024 Inspection to This Week's Spy Claim
Dated events in the Megaspeed and Jensen Huang story, late 2024 to Nov. 18, 2026
Each pin is a dated event; the long gap before October 2026 breaks the rail, and the pins bunch up once the story became public in the past two weeks.
The 2024 and February 2026 dates come from a lenders' memo Tom's Hardware reported in April; the rest come from this week's reporting.

Huang Le herself left before answering for any of it. Tom's Hardware reported that she departed Megaspeed and disappeared by mid-20259.
Tom's Hardware's reporting sits awkwardly next to this month's claim. Officials say they tracked her and Jensen Huang's relationship for about a year before Oct. 29. The timeline would run that watch into 2026. Both accounts leave out where she has been since, and whether investigators can still reach her.

Nvidia Holds Its Line
John Rizzo, a company spokesman, repeats Nvidia's first answer. He calls Jensen Huang's contact with Alice Huang ordinary. "Jensen's interactions with Ms. Huang are not unusual or unexpected. Meetings with customers are part of a C.E.O.'s job; Jensen talks with thousands of customer executives every year," Rizzo said8.
Rizzo's line carried Nvidia through the first report in October, and it still stands today. The statement answers a business question only. Romance, agency and a vanished executive all stay outside it.
Warren and Three Chairmen Press Huang for Answers
Senator Elizabeth Warren posted her own demand on X on Oct. 29, before the Ministry of State Security detail even surfaced. "NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang was reportedly 'targeted' by a suspected Chinese spy whose Singapore-based firm bought billions in AI chips. Huang and NVIDIA's board owe Congress answers. And we must pass bipartisan legislation to keep our advanced AI technology out of China's hands," she wrote2.
Warren had already invited Huang to testify once. She asked him to appear before the Senate Banking Committee in June, over Nvidia's China sales11. He skipped that invitation too.

Three House chairmen followed with their own deadline, CNBC reported Nov. 5. Brian Mast, John Moolenaar and Rick Crawford want a closed briefing by Nov. 18. They gave Huang until Nov. 11 to accept or name another date5.

One more fact sharpens the question. President Trump was briefed on the underlying findings about a year ago. He let the matter sit, according to the reporting behind Warren's statement11. Officials inside the government had this account before most of Congress did.
What to do
A reader holding Nvidia stock through Nov. 18 should track two separate clocks. One is Huang's answer to Congress. The other is whatever happens to the romantic claim, a question Nvidia and Congress have both left untouched in public so far.
Anyone covering this story for a client should ask who can actually produce Huang Le for questioning. Every account so far describes a company and its chips. The reporting stays silent on where Huang Le might be today. A client briefing should note that silence on its own.
By the numbers
- $2 billion: Nvidia chips Megaspeed is accused of buying for improper distribution, reported by Tom's Hardware in April9.
- About a year: how long intelligence officials tracked Alice Huang before the first public report, Oct. 294.
- 3: House committee chairmen who want Huang in a closed briefing by Nov. 185.
- 4: days left until Huang's deadline to accept or name another briefing date, counted from Nov. 75.
- Mid-2025: when Tom's Hardware reported that Alice Huang left Megaspeed and disappeared9.
- January: the month Washington authorized new H200 chip sales to China, the policy the memo says Huang Le's handlers wanted loosened further6.
What to watch
Nov. 11 shows whether Huang treats Congress's deadline as real. A refusal or a delay would answer that question on its own.
The romantic claim is the one still sitting untested. A document, a named intelligence official, or Alice Huang herself turning up anywhere would settle more than another statement from either side.
