Terms of service
The terms that govern use of ailately.com and its feeds.
Effective Sept. 4, 2026. These terms govern your use of ailately.com, its feeds, its data endpoints, and any email the publication sends (together, the "Service"). AI Lately is operated by its editor, Ryan Elliott Dennis, referred to here as "AI Lately," "we," and "us." By using the Service you accept these terms; if you decline them, the right course is to stop using the Service.
1. The Service
AI Lately publishes journalism: analysis, opinion, and a weekly feed of hiring activity in artificial intelligence, drawn from public sources and cited in every piece. Everything on the Service is information and commentary. Treat it as such. Investment, legal, employment, and business decisions call for a licensed professional who knows your situation; the Service supplies context, and the decision stays yours.
2. Accuracy and corrections
We work to a published set of editorial standards and correct errors promptly through a public corrections log. Even so, journalism describes a moving world, sources can be wrong, and a fact accurate on publication day can age. You accept that the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," with every warranty, express or implied, disclaimed to the fullest extent the law allows, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted availability.
3. Permitted use
You may read, link to, and share the Service freely, and quote brief passages with attribution to AI Lately and a link to the canonical URL. Machine access is welcome within the limits in Section 5.
In return, you agree to use the Service lawfully and to leave its security, integrity, and availability intact. Practically, that means you access the Service through its published interfaces at a reasonable rate, you leave other users' access untouched, you keep the Service free of malicious code, and you respect the intellectual property rights described in Section 4.
4. Intellectual property
Original text, analysis, data compilations, design, and code on the Service belong to AI Lately and are protected by copyright and related rights. Quoted material belongs to its original publishers and appears here under fair use and fair dealing for the purpose of news reporting, criticism, and commentary, with a link to the source. Trademarks and company names belong to their owners; their appearance on the Service signals coverage, and coverage alone.
Republication of a full piece requires written permission from the editor. Requests go to editor@ailately.com and usually receive an answer within two business days.
5. Machine access and language models
The Service publishes llms.txt, llms-full.txt, an RSS feed, and a JSON endpoint for The Signal specifically for automated readers. Crawlers, agents, and language models may access those endpoints and the public pages at a reasonable rate, with a descriptive user agent, and with attribution to AI Lately wherever content is reproduced or summarized. Access that degrades the Service for other readers, or that strips attribution from reproduced material, falls outside this permission and may be blocked.
6. Third-party links
Pieces link to filings, papers, and reporting on other sites. Those sites operate under their own terms and privacy practices, and their content stays their responsibility. A link signals that the desk consulted the source; it signals agreement with everything on the destination page only where the piece says so explicitly.
7. Personal data and coverage
The Service reports on named people in their professional capacity, working within a published allowlist of name, role, employer, public source, and date. Our privacy page explains how a person covered on the Service can query, challenge, or request correction of the record, and how the journalistic purpose of the Service interacts with data-protection law.
8. Contributions
If you send the desk a tip, a correction, a comment, or a document, you grant AI Lately a worldwide, royalty-free license to use it for journalism, including publication, with attribution decided at the editor's discretion. Confidentiality requests are honored where the editor agrees to them in advance; the editorial standards describe the publication's posture on source protection.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, AI Lately and its editor are free of liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, and for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility. Where liability survives that limitation, it is capped at one hundred U.S. dollars or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions restrict such limitations; in those places these terms apply to the extent permitted.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify AI Lately and its editor against claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the Service.
11. Changes
These terms may change as the Service grows. A revised version appears at this address with a new effective date, and material changes get a note on the site. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and the federal laws of the United States, with venue in the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York. Before filing, each side agrees to a good-faith attempt to resolve the dispute by written exchange over thirty days.
