What we checked
- Stars. 10,158 stars on the Tencent/BrowserSkill repository, counted on GitHub by Ai Lately on November 7, 2026.
- Red flags. We read the 46 files this skill would put on your computer, looking for downloads that run on their own, hidden orders, reads of your keys and passwords, and code that phones home. The scan raised a flag, and a person read it and judged it harmless: works inside the reader's logged-in browser, so it acts as them; it states it never extracts cookies or credentials and needs explicit consent to borrow a tab.
- One fixed version. We checked commit 7e862a4. The link opens exactly that version. An author can change a skill later, so read SKILL.md before you install.
- What we did not do. We did not run it. A scan cannot prove a skill is safe.
