Skills

Skills your AI can learn

A skill is a set of instructions your AI helper reads before it does a job. Pick one, copy its install line, and your helper can do the job.

Every skill has 1,000 or more stars on GitHub, and each one was checked for red flags on November 7, 2026. How we checked

Your shelf

Press the bookmark on any skill to keep it here. Your shelf stays in this browser, and one button copies every install line.

Add one to your project

  1. Open the skill's source and read its SKILL.md and anything it runs. A skill can tell your AI helper to run commands, so read it first.
  2. Run the install line in your project's terminal, or copy the skill's folder into .claude/skills/.
  3. Ask your AI helper to do the job the skill covers. It loads the skill when the job matches.

The install lines use the skills tool from Vercel. It sends anonymous install counts to skills.sh. To turn that off, put DISABLE_TELEMETRY=1 in front of the line.

How we checked them

We started with 313 skills from a public catalog at skill-issue.in. We looked up every one on GitHub and counted its stars ourselves, because the catalog's counts were out of date: 120 of the 157 it gave were more than a tenth below GitHub's. The stars, the plain-words lines and the seven groups on this page are ours.

  • 68 had fewer than 1,000 stars, so they are left out.
  • 25 are gone from GitHub, archived, or hold no skill file.
  • 10 were removed after a person read them, for things like decrypting your browser logins, hunting for your passwords, piping unknown code into your shell, letting chat apps control your computer, or stripping the AI watermarks from text.
  • 210 are here, from 120 repositories. All were updated in the last year.

For each one that stayed, we read what it puts on your computer: its instruction file, its scripts and its hooks. We looked for commands that download and run code in one step, orders to hide something from you, reading of keys and passwords, deleting at the root folder, text that tries to take over your AI helper, hidden characters, scrambled code, and programs that phone home. Every flag was read by a person, and a flag that turned out to be harmless is written down with the reason.

We checked one fixed version of each skill: its commit on GitHub on November 7, 2026. The Source link on each page opens that exact version. An author can change a skill later, so read SKILL.md before you install. We did not run any skill, and a scan cannot prove a skill is safe. It finds the known bad shapes and shows where we looked.

Some skills reach past your project folder, like working inside your signed-in browser or posting from your accounts. Their cards carry a note. 15 list no license, so ask the maker before you use one in a product.

Built or found a skill other builders should know about? Send it to the editor.
